Domtar ranked in top 100 greenest companies in America according to Newsweek!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Earlier this week Newsweek Magazine released their 2010 Green Rankings, where Domtar has been listed as one of the "100 Greenest Companies in America". Domtar is ranked 95 out of the 500 largest U.S. publicly-held companies, determined by a combination of market cap, revenue and number of employees. Each company received a "green score" based on three metrics:

  • Environmental Impact (Worldwide footprint based on more than 750 metrics, including GHG emissions, water use and solid waste disposal)
  • Green Policies (A comprehensive assessment of the company's environmental reporting, policies, programs, and initiatives)
  • Reputation Survey Score (A poll of CEOs, environmental officers and other corporate/social responsibility experts about the company's environmental performance, commitment, and communications)
